Women's Work in the Civil War

To commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the end of the Civil War, Diversion Books is publishing seminal works of the era: stories told by the men and women who led, who fought, and who lived in an America that had come apart at the seams. While men fought the battles, it was the women who fought the war. Thrust onto sides of a fence, still decades away from even the right to vote, women kept the country from crumbling upon itself during the brutal conflict. These profiles of women both historica
