A personal memoir of Ching-I Tu, professor emeritus in Chinese and East Asian Studies of Rutgers University, who was the founder of Rutgers' Chinese program and later served as the founding chair of its Department of Asian Languages and Cultures. He has written and published in Chinese literature, Chinese literary criticism, and Chinese thought.
