Tropical Intraseasonal Variability and the Stochastic Skeleton Method

In this text, modern applied mathematics and physical insight are used to construct the simplest and first nonlinear dynamical model for the Madden-Julian oscillation (MJO), i.e. the stochastic skeleton model.
