Their Master’s Voice

Of the five books that make up the Major Prophets in the Old Testament, three are amongst the largest of the Bible: Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. As if to underscore their Major status, each one is significantly longer than the Minor Prophets combined. Although the specific details of each prophet's contribution differ, a more general overarching theme may be discerned in them all: to remind their respective target audiences of their covenantal obligations. The prevailing human condition throug
