This is the story of the Canadian clipper ship Marco Polo and of the significant role played by two Canadians, Donald McKay, and Samuel Cunard, in the transformative changes to shipping and shipbuilding that occurred in the nineteenth century. At one point in time, the Marco Polo was considered to be the fastest medium-clipper ship on the high seas.
