Karl Marx wrote "The Poverty of Philosophy" (1847) in response to the respected work "The Philosophy of Poverty" by Proudhon published that same year. "The Poverty of Philosophy" is a rebuttal to Proudhon's anarcho-socialist opining. It focuses, as much of Marx's writings do, on the philosophy of economy.
