This book in my opinion is and has a great purpose, and that is to show the reality of our life. You can have great times, frustrating times, traumatic times, funny times etc.  But through all those times , God is always there with you, He isn't pushy, never forceful, and always loving and accepting.  As a kid growing up, I found it hard reading a book about one plot, one story, dragging on and on.
