It is drawn upon a Georgian manuscript composed around the 13th or 14th century, relating events of Christian Martyrs during the reign of the emperor Diocletian. These events either appears as a leaf from a synaxarium or an older work of hagiography that appears to have traveled through the Sassanian Empire before arriving in Georgia prior to the 6th century.
