Born and raised in an evangelical home, Helio Vassão Nespoli had his real experience of conversion in 1974, when he was 15 years old. This experience was so intense, that he felt a calling to preach and be a minister of the gospel. He was ordained a pastor in 1985 and started planting churches with his wife.
