This book is a series of incidents recalled at random from my twenty-seven-year career as a city of Austin's professional firefighter.I worked at many fire stations with many different crews. I started out at Station 8, and in less than three months I was transferred to Station 1, the Central Station, or headquarters. I worked there for seven years. While at Central Station, I worked relief at every station in the city.After serving seven years at Central Station, I was transferred to Station 7.
