Our Lactating God

Embodied as Black and female, southern and working class, and with an often-made-up mind, Aubra Love lays bare the pains of Jim Crow segregation, colorism in the Black community, and women’s actualization to claim with the labor of love an embodied  Amen!  Meditating on Isaiah’s image of the Lactating God—"Can a mother forget her suckling child?"—Love speaks to motherhood and nourishment, rejection and reconciliation, joy, pain, comfort, and family.
