Luther Burbank (1849-1926) was a prolific plant breeder and horticulturist. Born in Massachusetts, he did most of his life's work in Santa Rosa, California. Over the course of 50 years he introduced over 800 new plants. Fortunately for us, his lifetime coincided with the practical development of photography.
