Second Lieutenant John K. (Keith) Wells USMC commanded the most decorated Infantry Platoon to come out of a single engagement in the history of the United States as Platoon Leader of the 3rd Platoon, Easy Company, 28th Marines on the island of Iwo Jima. He vividly describes how he and his men trained and eventually attacked Mount Suribachi and raised the first American flag. Lt.
