Description

As a child, Eddie Tokpa lived with his family in a village of mud huts on the Firestone Rubber Plantation where parents and children worked long hours tapping rubber trees for the tire manufacturer, barely making enough to survive. On Christmas Eve 1989, Liberia was invaded by insurgents, resulting in fourteen years of anarchy and mayhem. Separated from his family, Eddie lived in terror during the war and spent the next eight years in a refugee camp in Ghana, praying to God to help him survive.
